Teens and Texting

Young adults, 18-24 year olds, are said to be "professional texters". In 2000, 14 million texts were sent out monthly. Today, 188 billion texts are sent out. Experts are afraid for the younger generation because of the social skills they are beginning to lack. For example, a kid apologizes to another kid for something he did earlier that day through text message. He doesn't have to experience the awkwardness of the situation and he doesn't have the skills to apologize in person.
