In the article "Second death in Minnesota tied to synthetic drugs", Alex Winterhalter, a 22 year old man shot and killed himself while using synthetic marijuana. He had been smoking pot for five years and a friend told police that Alex thought that synthetic pot was legal and that's why he started smoking it all the time. The night of Alex Winterhalter's death, he had been drinking at the bar and was well over the legal driving limit. He had also been smoking synthetic marijuana that same night. Police say that Alex shot himself because of an "altered state of mind due to chemicals".
